Born into a family of nine children, Shawn Pierson grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania with parents dedicated to serving their community: his father a local dentist and his mother, a nurse. His parents modeled and lived their lives as hard working adults serving a cause greater than themselves- their children and their community. Staying true to the values his parents held so dear, Shawn found himself, after earning his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Temple University, serving as an Administrator and as Director of Human Resources for a national organization that owned and operated nursing homes and assisted living centers. This role as a licensed Administrator gave him the opportunity to obtain extensive experience with the delivery of long term care services, including nursing home, personal care, and assisted living facilities. After serving in this role for nine years, it became clear to Shawn that there was an unmet need for many of the patients and their families he came in contact with every day. Hearing patients and their families struggle with how to be a successful advocate for their loved ones, inspired Shawn to go back to school, earn his law degree and become that advocate for the patient’s family through proper estate planning and asset protection. Shawn started his practice in 2001 with his focus solely on advocating for this population. Shawn built his practice on his mission of making sure people not only know they have options when it comes to Elder Law, but also that they have an understanding of their options and a solid plan of how to best accomplish them. Whether it is through helping his clients create an estate plan, or helping clients navigate through the process of various nursing home issues or estate administration after a loved one’s passing, Shawn is a local, specialized Elder Law attorney ready to help and educate. In addition to serving his community through his Elder Law practice, Shawn is a frequent guest speaker at the surrounding Lancaster County Senior Communities, churches, and non-profit groups. Keeping to the values of hard work and serving a greater purpose, Shawn is also dedicated to giving back to the community through his corporate sponsorships of local non-profits like Brittany’s Hope (providing aid to abandoned children worldwide), here in Lancaster County. |
